on Thaipusam Day, 2 Indian girls deprived of their home cooked food googled for new location to go for BLR (Banana Leaf Rice). Nothing beats eating out from the leaf, using your fingers and hand.
So, this is how our BLR looks like at Aunty Manju at TTDI.
As usual , we did our research and found pretty much a lot of bad reviews for them. The reviews are on their Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/auntymanjusbananaleaf/. Thus we decided to give a try at Jaipur Curry House which is on the next row.
We arrived near to 1pm. Parking is a hassle. Both Aunty Manju and Jaipur had a full house. We decided to just give a try at Aunty Manju and we were so glad that we did that!
Their basic BLR set costs RM8.50 and comes with 5 type of vegetables! That is a good bargain! The vegetables were good but yes, it is of the normal choices you get in most of the shops as well. Still, it taste good.
The makan partner this time, Su, took 1 egg sambal, spicy but nice priced at RM2.
The fried bittergourd plate priced at RM4
The tenggiri fish, fresh and succulent but lack of seasoning ( my personal view it is) is priced at RM12. I feel it is on the pricier side but the fish is indeed very fresh.
We ordered Mango Lassi and Iced Lime. Too full to make a move, we ordered a cup of Masala Tea and Bru Coffee, both with Cow's milk. The masala tea was better than the coffee.
Service was good and fast despite it was full house.
Would I come again? Yes, I would!
